DETAILED ITINENARY OF 6 DAYS AMBOSELI AND MARA RIVER CROSSING SAFARI
DAY 1: Transfer from Nairobi city for Amboseli national park
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be picked up by your safari drive – guide and after a short safari briefing you will embark on a drive to Amboseli national park. Alternatively you can also be picked from your hotel in Nairobi, from Nairobi to Amboseli national park it is a drive of about 222 kilometers and during the journey you will enjoy views of the country side.
Arrive in the park in time for lunch which you will have at your lodge and then go for an afternoon game drive exploring the park and enjoying views several animals such as herds of elephants, lions, leopards, elands, masai giraffes among others. After the sunset you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: Full day game drive in Amboseli national park
After breakfast you will head to the park for a full day of game viewing, this is the most adventurous day of 6 days Amboseli and Masai Mara safari in Amboseli national park. During the full day game drive you will explore the park to the fullest and be able to see many animals such as African elephant, buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, Burchell’s zebra among others. You will also enjoy scenic views of Mount Kilimanjaro the tallest free standing mountain in Africa, you will have picnic lunch and go for another adventure of game viewing. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

DAY 3: Transfer from Amboseli national park to Masai Mara national reserve
Have early breakfast, check out of the and go for a game drive as you exit the park heading to Masai Mara national reserve via Nairobi, from Amboseli national park to Masai Mara national reserve is a drive on 7-8 hours so along the way you will have a stopover in Nairobi for lunch and then proceed to Masai Mara arriving in late evening. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

DAY 4 -5: Full day game drive in Masai Mara national reserve
You are to spend these 2 days of 6 days Amboseli and Masai Mara safari exploring Masai Mara national reserve and following the Great Wildebeest migration and witnessing the Mara river crossing as millions of wildebeests attempt to cross Mara river which is filled with Nile crocodiles.
During the game drives in the endless plains of Masai Mara national reserve you will be able to see various animals such as lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes, elephants and many more.
On these 2 days, you can choose to do an optional air balloon Kenya safari which offers views of the endless plains of the reserve and large migrating herds as the wander through the reserve. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: drive from Masai Mara national reserve back to Nairobi
Have early breakfast, checkout of the lodge and go for en-route morning game drive as you exit the reserve heading back to Nairobi for a drop off. You will be dropped off either at your hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight back home.
