Detailed itinerary of 9 Days Northern Tanzania Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
On arrival in Arusha at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your driver and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha which will take approximately 90 minutes. Along the drive you will watch breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
If you arrive early, you can spend your afternoon birdwatching in the hotel gardens, take a coffee – tasting tour in a nearby estate, visit the hotel gardens, take a coffee-tasting tour in a nearby estate, visit a market town or relax by the pool.
After a delicious dinner at the hotel, you can unwind and prepare for your exciting safari adventure the following day.

Day 2 – 4: Explore Tarangire: From Baobabs to Big Tree-Climbing Cats
After a delicious breakfast at your Arusha Villa, prepare for an unforgettable adventure to Tarangire National Park. On the simple and classic itinerary, you will be greeted by your friendly and knowledgeable driver and guide who will accompany you throughout your Tanzania safari.
Enjoy a scenic drive through the rural countryside until you reach the park entrance. From there, you will enjoy an exhilarating game drive to your lodge where you will relax and unwind. For the next two days, you will explore the park’s unique landscapes from the majestic baobab trees to the winding Tarangire River and encounter a variety of animals such as elephants, lion, zebras and giraffes.
For the two days, you will immerse yourself in the rich and diverse ecosystem of Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Park seeing hundreds of bird species and sensational wildlife.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater: A Colossal Caldera of Iconic Wildlife Wonders!
Explore the astonishing wildlife of Ngorongoro Crater
You will depart early in the morning for a game drive through Tarangire National Park as you head north until you reach the park gate and then drive west towards Ngorongoro, stopping off at the picturesque Lake Manyara National Park. Here, you can spot some of its unique wildlife, enjoying a picnic lunch overlooking the alkaline lake while admiring the flamboyance of flamingo, search for zebra, buffalo, elephants and the rare tree climbing lions. In the afternoon, you will head back out of the park heading to your lodge in the vibrant town of Karatu, where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Start your day early with early breakfast, descend to the crater floor to enjoy the serene atmosphere and observe the active wildlife while it’s still cool. You will have a chance to a chance to savor coffee before embarking on an unforgettable game drive in search of lion, rhino, elephant and more. A delightful picnic lunch awaits you, perhaps beside a hippo pool and you will continue your exciting adventure in search of the Big Five including the rare black rhino.
When its time to head back, your guide will take you back up the steep walls of the caldera to the rim and onward to your lodge. You will then have some time to freshen up and enjoy a delicious drink at the bar before relaxing and sharing your day’s sightings with fellow guests over dinner and the lodge.

Day 7 – 9: The Sprawling Serengeti Savannahs
After breakfast, you will begin your journey towards the vast wildlife-rich plains of the Serengeti by road from Karatu with your driver guide through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to finally reach the Serengeti.
During the journey, you will witness abundant wildlife such as gazelles, zebras, wildebeests and more. You will arrive at your safari lodge in central Serengeti in time for lunch, which you can relish while admiring the expansive grassy plains.
You will have the next couple of days to uncover the world-renowned wildlife of Serengeti. Typically, you will go out twice a day, once early morning and late afternoon, returning to your lodge in the heat of the day for time to unwind, and have a siesta and lunch. Each evening, gather around the campfire before enjoying a delicious dinner, reminiscing the day’s adventures and sightings.

Day 10: Farewell to the Serengeti Savannahs
After a final breakfast, you will transfer back to Arusha arriving in time for lunch. You will be dropped off either at your hotel or at Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your departure flight back home.
