Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Transfer to Amboseli National Park.

After a brief orientation about your safari, you will be driven in a luxury 4×4 Land Cruiser on your way to Amboseli National Park (approximately 4 hours south of Nairobi).

The drive offers spectacular views of the Kenyan countryside, rolling hills, open plains, and traditional Maasai villages along the way. Arriving at your lodge or camp (like Tortilis Camp, Ol Tukai Lodge or Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge) is often a highlight of the journey, where your elegant lodge accommodations await you! Day 2: Full-Day Game Drives in Amboseli National Park.

Wake up early to the sounds of birds and watch Mount Kilimanjaro light up in the morning sun. Enjoy some coffee or tea before heading out for a game drive, as this is when game viewing is at its best due to animals being more active in the cooler morning hours.

You might see elephants bathing in swamps, lions wrapping up their night hunts, or cheetahs scanning the landscape for prey. Enjoy seeing the animals up close and identify more special gems like rare hornbills, crocodiles, and all the interesting kinds of antelopes such as long-necked gerenuks. After lunch, you will depart on an afternoon game drive to explore the other areas of the park. Amboseli’s varied habitats of open plains, marshes, and acacia woodlands provide different opportunities to view wildlife. If you are a photographer, please keep in mind your camera because it is one of the best places in Africa to photograph elephants up close against the beautiful backdrop of Kilimanjaro.

Cocktails by the campfire will follow another spectacular African sunset as the evening approaches. Dinner will be taken under the stars in the lodge’s dining room, where tables are set up outside or in its elegant restaurant; and again, with options for international and local fare with fresh ingredients. Spend the evening stargazing, or listen to the camp guide’s stories about the wildlife and culture of Kenya, then retire for the night.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Return to Nairobi.

On the final morning, wake early for one last game drive to appreciate the beauty of Amboseli at sunrise. Experience the transformation of the plains as they come alive with colors and movements- elephants marching as a family, giraffes feeding on acacia trees, and flamingos wading in the park’s lakes/seasonal lakes.

After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and begin your journey back to Nairobi, where you will arrive in the afternoon. If your flight schedule permits, you might enjoy a farewell lunch at one of the many fine restaurants in Nairobi before being transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your journey onward.
