You’ll be treated to luxurious lodges, private guides, and driving through Kenya’s most beautiful national parks.
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park—The Land of Giants
Your adventure begins before sunrise with a warm welcome from your safari guide upon your arrival at the hotel in Nairobi. You will have a quick briefing and then board transportation or a flight to Amboseli National Park, which is located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain.
Upon arrival at Amboseli, you will check into a luxury lodge or tented camp such as Tortilis Camp, Ol Tukai Lodge or Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, which will offer luxurious accommodations and amazing views of the mountain. After a delicious lunch, you will then go on a game drive, where this is the best opportunity to spot large herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions, zebras and giraffes roaming the open plains of Amboseli National Park. As the sun sets behind Kilimanjaro, the sky turns to gold, creating ideal lighting for photographs. You can head back to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep, lulled by the sounds of the wild.
Day 2: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha—The Garden of Lakes.
Enjoy Breakfast and then depart Amboseli for one last brief game drive, and then depart, driving through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley toward Lake Naivasha. You will see local villages, local farms, and escarpments prior to arriving at your luxury lodge and/or resort, such as Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge or Enashipai Resort and Spa.
You will enjoy lunch and then board a boat on Lake Naivasha’s placid waters surrounded by hippos, pelicans and kingfishers. You may also visit Crescent Island, a private wildlife sanctuary, where you will walk among giraffes, zebras and antelopes in peace. That evening, your lodge awaits with a fabulous dinner and wine and a cool lakeside breeze under the African sky.
Once you have enjoyed breakfast, continue to drive up to Lake Nakuru National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site boasting a remarkable variety of birdlife, as well as some unique animal species that are hard to find elsewhere. Once you have arrived at the park, check into one of the exquisite lodges, such as Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or The Cliff Nakuru, which overlooks Lake Nakuru.
Later this afternoon you will depart for a game drive through the national park, famous for its flamingos, white and black rhinos, leopards, and tree-climbing lions. Your guide will make stops at some popular viewpoints such as Baboon Cliff and Makalia Falls for some spectacular views of the surrounding lake and savannah. Dinner will be served at the lodge’s upscale restaurant before you retire for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara—The Jewel of Africa.
After breakfast this morning, we will set off to Maasai Mara National Reserve, which is the most well-known safari destination in Kenya. The journey offers beautiful views through farmland and the Loita Hills. You will arrive in time for lunch at your luxury camp or lodge, such as Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Ashnil Mara Camp, or Angama Mara, which are all set in lovely locations with the utmost in comfort.
In the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon game drive into the expansive open plains of the Maasai Mara to see the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos) as well as cheetahs and an abundance of antelope species, among many others. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay
Day 5: morning game drive and return to Nairobi.
On the last day of the Kenya wildlife safari, you will wake up early for a morning game drive when the predators are most active. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for breakfast and check out. When you arrive in Nairobi, your guide will drop you off at your hotel or airport for your return flight, concluding a very special luxury Kenya safari adventure with an en-route lunch.
