Day 1: Flight from Nairobi to Amboseli—afternoon game drive.
Your luxury adventure begins with a transfer from your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Wilson Airport in Nairobi, where you will board a short 45-minute flight to Amboseli. This flight is an experience in itself—spectacular aerial views of the Great Rift Valley, lush farmlands and, of course, the spectacular view of Amboseli National Park below.
After arriving at the Amboseli airstrip, your professional safari guide and driver will be waiting to welcome you. You are about to enjoy a short game drive on your way to your luxury lodge or tented camp, Tortilis Camp, Ol Tukai Lodge, or Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. These lodges will spoil you with comfort, food, and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
After check-in and a welcome drink, lunch will be served at the lodge restaurant overlooking the plains. In the afternoon, you’ll set off for your first game drive in Amboseli National Park, which is famed for the large family groups of elephants that wander the open plains with the snow-covered Kilimanjaro Mountain as the perfect photographic backdrop. You might also see lions, cheetahs, zebras, buffalo, giraffes, and hundreds of bird species.
In the evening as the sun sets, you’ll return to the lodge to enjoy a sundowner cocktail and a delicious dinner under the African night sky. You will spend the night in your luxurious room, hopefully serenaded by the wilderness and a refreshing breeze from Kilimanjaro.
Day 2: Full Day of Game Viewing in Amboseli National Park.
On the second day, we will fully embrace what Amboseli and its wildlife have to offer. Rise early to experience the incredible sight of sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro, which will always be a signature part of your experience of Amboseli. After coffee or tea, you will depart for a morning game drive while the animals are most active.
You will have the chance to experience Amboseli’s famous elephant herds, along with wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and antelopes grazing in the grasslands, all while your expert guide shares their knowledge of animal behavior, the park’s ecosystem, and the Maasai culture of the surrounding area. Following the morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for the first of two meals provided. Following breakfast, you will have a chance to relax, take a swim in the lodge’s infinity pool, or have a spa treatment before heading back into the park for more wildlife viewing. You are also welcome to relax on your private veranda while enjoying the scenery, complete with elephants passing by in the distance.
After lunch, you will go for an afternoon game drive, or you may choose to visit a Maasai village to experience their traditional lifestyle, dances, and crafts. As the day winds down and golden light begins to envelop the park, you will have incredible opportunities for photography during sunset.
We will reconvene at the lodge for yet another delicious dinner made from fresh local ingredients. The evening can be spent by the campfire, sharing stories and connecting over the beauty of the day with your fellow guests and later you can go back to your lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive—Flight to Nairobi.
On your final morning you will take one last early game drive to see the park waking up and to enjoy the quiet time seeing elephants, giraffes and different species of birds getting on with their day. After breakfast, you will fly back to Nairobi.
When you arrive at Wilson Airport, you will be met by your guide and taken to your hotel or to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward connections. You leave Amboseli with wonderful memories of its wildlife and landscapes and the wonderful luxury of the hospitality you enjoyed.
