DETAILED ITINERARY OF 12 DAYS TANZANIA SAFARI AND BEACH HOLIDAY
Day 1 – Arrival and fly to Nyerere National Park
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and be transferred to Arusha Airport for your domestic flight to Nyerere National Park. At Airstrip, you will meet your safari – driver guide and drive to your lodge/camp where you will stay for 3 nights of this safari.
Depending on the time of your flight, you will have your first safari experience in the afternoon exploring the plains of Nyerere National Park and spotting various wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2-3 – On safari in Nyerere
You will spend these two days of the safari exploring Nyerere National Park, on these two days give you a great ideal of flexibility on the time to go for a safari. You can choose between a morning and an afternoon game drive or a full day game drive safari with picnic lunch or do a boat safari, fishing or walking safaris which are available.
Nyerere National Park boasts a variety of wildlife which you will spot during the game drives, some of the animals to lookout for include lions, elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, impalas, elands, elusive leopards, wild dogs among others.
Boat safaris in Nyerere National Park are done on River Rufiji, during the cruise you will spot many animals including large crocodiles, hippos and many water birds such as African spoonbill, black winged stilt, hamerkops, kingfishers among others. After the sunset, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 – Fly to Ruaha National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout and be driven to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Ruaha National Park. Upon landing at the airstrip, you will be welcomed by our representative – your safari driver guide and head to your camp with a short game drive.
Have lunch at the camp after checking in, return to the park for an afternoon game drive. During the game drive you will a chance to explore the wilderness of Ruaha and spot various animals including lions, leopards, wild dogs, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, bat-eared foxes, jackals among others.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5-6 – Explore Ruaha National Park
You will have two full day of the safari exploring Ruaha National Park to the fullest and enjoy its vast wilderness.
Ruaha National Park is a vast park stretching approximately 20,226 square kilometers making it the second largest national park in Tanzania, the park is made up of a huge variety of landscapes from the Great Ruaha River, the rolling hills, rocky escarpments and vast open plains dotted with the iconic Africa Baobab trees.
Ruaha National Park is home to a variety of wildlife including prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, grant’s gazelles, sable antelopes, roan antelopes, topi, bohor reedbucks among others. The park is a remote destination offering authentic safari experiences which why it is loved by many tourists.
Day 7 – Fly to Mafia Island
After breakfast, you will be driven to the airstrip for a domestic flight to the beautiful Mafia Island, you will be met by your guide – our representative and drive to your hotel where you will spend the next 5 days of your beach holiday.

Day 8-11- Enjoy Mafia Island
You will spend four days on Mafia Island relaxing and enjoying the lodge
Mafia Island is one of the best beach destinations in Tanzania located Southeast of Dar es Salaam just off Tanzania’s Swahili Coast, the island is a tropical paradise with white sand beaches, turquoise waters and a lush green interior intersected by unpaved roads.
During your stay at Mafia Island, you can participate in various option activities including
Diving – Big Blu Mafia Island Diver Centre offers wonderful diving experiences, the center is very accessible and open for visitors interested in diving excursions.
Sandback Picnics – sail out to a sandbank at low tide, set up a simple base for a picnic lunch and spend time swimming, snorkeling and relaxing on a beautiful beach.
Sailing – the lodge offers easy access to a number of local dhows and you can have dhow cruises on the calm waters.
Fishing excursions – fishing trips on Mafia Island are arranged with local fishermen using local fishing tackle and techniques.
Cultural Visit – go for guided walks around the local villages, you can spend some time in the Kilondoni – the capital of the island. The center has a pleasant central market and a lively waterfront area.
Day 12 – Fly home
After breakfast, you will be transfer to the airstrip for your domestic flight back to Dar es Salaam then connect for the airport for your international flight back home.
