Detailed 3 Days Tsavo East National Park Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park

Transfer from Nairobi to Tsavo East: On the first day of your 3 days Tsavo East National Park safari, you will be picked up from the airport or your hotel by your safari driver. You will then begin the journey from Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park, a drive that takes approximately 6–7 hours.

Tsavo East National Park is a popular tourist destination located in the semi-arid area of the Taru Desert near the town of Voi in Taita Taveta County, formerly known as Coast Province. The park is famous for its large population of elephants and its legendary man-eating lions. The elephants are commonly known as red elephants because they become covered in the park’s characteristic red dust as they roll and bathe in the soil.

You will arrive at the park in the evening, check into your lodge, have dinner, and spend the night at your accommodation.

Day 2: Full-Day Tour of Tsavo East National Park

Full-day game drive in Tsavo East: On the second day of your 3 days Tsavo East safari, you will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast before meeting your safari driver. You will then head into the park for an exciting morning game drive.

Tsavo East National Park is well known for its wildlife and large elephant herds. During your game drive, you may encounter a variety of animals, including lions, red elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, lesser kudu, gerenuk, waterbucks, and many more.

The morning game drive provides an excellent opportunity to explore the park when wildlife is generally active. After the morning exploration, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

In the afternoon, you will head back into Tsavo East for another game drive. Continue exploring the park’s diverse landscapes and looking for more wildlife before returning to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Depart from Tsavo East National Park to Nairobi

Departure from Tsavo East: The third day of your Kenya safari is dedicated to returning from Tsavo East National Park to Nairobi.

After breakfast, you will have some time to relax before checking out of your lodge at approximately 10:00 am. You will then begin your journey back to Nairobi.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will have lunch before being dropped off at your hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
