Detailed Itinerary of 6 days Gorilla, Chimpanzee and Golden Monkey Treks in Rwanda
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by our professional driver/ guide, he will brief you about the safari and then transfer to Nyungwe national park. Along the way you will enjoy views of rolling hills and the ever green vegetation. When you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk
Have early morning breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing session on rules and guidelines of chimpanzee tracking, in company of rangers and tour guides you will head into the jungle looking for chimpanzees. Usually the ranger knows where to spot the chimpanzees easily and as you trek through the forest you will spot other primates including black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons among others. When you locate the chimpanzees you will spend 1 hour watching them play on tree branches, take care of each other and picking fruits, take pictures and learn more about their amazing behavior.
Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a canopy walk on a suspended bridge 70 meters high above the Nyungwe Forest, you will spot various species of birds and primates including black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons and the neighboring areas. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Have morning breakfast and transfer to Volcanoes national park, along the way you will have a visit Lake Kivu where you will have views of the beautiful beaches, the lake and the local people fishing and you can take memorable pictures. Continue with your journey to Volcanoes national park arriving in the evening, check into your lodge for relaxation and spend the night.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking and Visiting Twin Lakes
Have early breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking and in group of 8 people you will enter into the jungle looking for mountain gorillas. When you meet the group you are trekking, you will spend one hour with the gorillas watching them plenty on tree branches, take care of each other and take pictures as long as your flashlight is off. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation, in the afternoon you will go for a tour to the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for beautiful view of the blue water and taking amazing photos. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Golden Monkey’s Tracking – Iblwacu Cultural Tour
Have morning breakfast, head to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi for briefing conducted by rangers on how to conduct on the endangered golden monkeys, you will be placed in groups of 6 people and head into the forest looking for golden monkeys which are normally found on the lower slopes in the bamboo trees. You will spend one hour in their presence taking pictures and watching these playful creatures jumping on tree branches.
After the golden monkey tracking, you will head back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will head for community walk on which you will be entertained by local dances and drama, demonstration of crowning of the King among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali city for tour and Departure
Wake up early for breakfast and transfer to Kigali City for a city tour visiting most of the historical places like the genocide memorial site and the National Museum. You will have lunch and then the driver will drop you to the airport for your departure flight or at your hotel in Kigali.
