DETAILED ITINERARYOF 7 DAYS GORILLA TRACKING UGANDA
Day 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe or upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by our tour guide and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the scenic country sides of the western Uganda. You will also drive through the scenic little Switzerland of Uganda – Kigezi hills, you will have lunch in Mbarara along the way and continue to the park arriving in the late evening. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
Have early breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters where you will join other trekkers for briefing about the rules and regulations to follow on this grand experience.
In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, then enter into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2-6 hours or more depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
When you locate the gorillas, you are allowed to spend a maximum of 1 hour observing the behavior of the gorillas, watch them play on tree branches, pick fruits and grooming each other. Return to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla permits, and return to your lodge or head to the Batwa Community for an cultural encounter.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a game drive en-route through the Ishasha Sector. Here you will see the tree climbing lions, bush bucks, antelopes and many other animals.
Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge, in the afternoon you will be drive to the Crater Lakes Region to view the various crater lakes around the park plus Lake Katwe where salt is traditionally mined in the park.
Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 4: Kazinga Channel Cruise
Wake up for breakfast and drive to Kasenyi track for a morning game drive in search for animals like leopards, lions, elephants, hyenas, Uganda kobs among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel – a natural water channel connecting Lake George to Lake Edward. During the cruise, you will see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds such as herons, grey crested cranes among others. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Kibale National Park
After breakfast, you will head to Fort Portal Town to Nyakasura for a visit to the Amabere ga Nyinamwiru caves to view the stalactites and stalagmites. Then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimp Tracking- Bigodi Swamp
After breakfast, you will head to the Kanyankyu Tourist Center for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. A senior ranger will take you through the rules and regulations to follow while in the forests of Kibale.
Head into the forests looking for chimpanzees and along the way, you will spot other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, olive baboons and many birds. When you locate the chimpanzee group you are trekking, you will spend one hour in their presence watching them play on tree branches, feeding and grooming each other.
In the afternoon after lunch, you will go for a nature walk around Bigodi Swamp for a sight of various bird species and primates. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Overnight at Chimpudu Safari Lodge

Day 7: Drive back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on a drive back to Kampala via Fort Portal – Mubende road. You will have en-route lunch and when you arrive, you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
