Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara

You will be met by your driver-guide/driver who is also a representative of Focus East Africa tours at your lodge in Nairobi, after a short briefing about 7 days Kenya and Tanzania you will embark on a drive to Masai Mara national reserve. On your way you will have a brief stopover at craft shops for craft shopping, when you arrive in the park you will have lunch after checking into your lodge then in the afternoon you will go for a game drive for sights of animals like lions, leopards, Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos and many more. In the evening you will return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Full Day at Maasai Mara game reserve

After breakfast at your lodge you will head to Masai Mara national reserve for a full game drive with your packed lunch, on the full day game drive you will have an opportunity to spot many wildlife species living in the savannah plains of the park such as lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, elands, zebras, topis among others. On the same game drive you will have a chance to watch many bird species such as Ostriches, Vultures, Secretary birds, Weaver birds, Mourning doves, lovebirds among others.

At lunch you will have picnic lunch set at any picnic site while you are watching wildlife grazing in the plains of the park, and then you will go for another game drive visiting other sections of the park. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

After early morning breakfast you will checkout of your lodge as early as 6:00 am and embark on a journey leaving Masai Mara national reserve and Kenya as well for Tanzania’s Serengeti national park with border crossing at Isebania. On your way you will have en-route lunch and when you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Full day at the Serengeti National Park

After morning breakfast you will head to Serengeti national park for a full day of exploring the park on a game drive, when you arrive in the park you will have a morning game drive and on this game drive lookout for sights of animals like lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, elands, leopards, elephants and many more as they graze and run around in savannah plains of the park. At lunch you will either have picnic lunch set at picnic sites in the park or have head back to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will do another game drive exploring more of the savannah plains of the park. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your loge.

Day 5: Serengeti Plains – Ngorongoro crater

After an early breakfast, you will meet your safari driver and descend to the crater floor for a morning game drive enjoying sights of many animals such as lions, cheetahs, elephants, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, cape buffaloes, elands and many more. After the game drive you will have lunch at your lodge then checkout and embark on a drive to Ngorongoro conservation area, Ngorongoro Conservation area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the World’s largest intact caldera in the names of Ngorongoro crater. On your way to Ngorongoro conservation area you will visit the Olduvai hosting evidence of human evolution which was discovered by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey. When you arrive, you will have lunch and then head to the crater floor for sightings of animals such as lions, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and many birds. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6; transfer to Lake Manyara national park

After early morning breakfast at your lodge you will checkout of your lodge and embark on a drive to Lake Manyara national park with an en-route game drive. Lake Manyara national park is a home to a variety of wildlife species such as monkeys, giraffes, elephants, impalas, dik- dik and many pink flamingoes living on the shores of Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara national park is famous for tree climbing lions sighted resting on acacia and baobabs trees, when you arrive in Lake Manyara national park you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for an afternoon game drive. On the game drive you will sighted many animals such as elephants, tree climbing lions, wildebeests, buffaloes and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Arusha

After breakfast at your lodge, you will meet your safari driver and exit Lake Manyara national park with an en-route game drive and head on a journey to Arusha. When you arrive in Arusha you will be dropped off at your residential location or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
