KASIGAU BASE CAMP – TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Kasigua base camp is a mid –accommodation found south of the Taita Hill in Taita taveta country along the ancient elephant migration route bordering Tsavo east and Tsavo west national park in the southern Kenya region. The base camp is in an ideal place to hike kasigua since its surrounded by mountain peaks and explore tsavo national park with its beautiful views and lake jipe. . The lodge is situated approximately 4-5 hour’s (330km) drive from Nairobi City center and an hour flight to the close Kasigau gate airstrip then 20 minutes to be transferred to the camp .
Kasigua base camp consists of 6 spacious and comfortable cottages overlooking the beautiful landscape that are built in African Traditional simple style with grass roofs and local woods. There are also campsites for camp lovers. All tents have en-suite facilities of bathroom with hot showers heated on fire , Four poster beds, clean flush toilets , mosquito nets , wooden comfortable chairs and tables , free bottled water in the rooms , comfortable beds with clean beddings , free toiletries to mention but a few.
Cottages have large sitting areas and private verandas that give a stunning view of the wilderness and surrounding areas. Each Cottage Is well equipped with comfortable beds containing queen sized poster beds. There is a fireplace where fire glows with comfortable chairs where guests relax and share stories/experience about the safari, it also provide warmth to visitors when the weather is chilly. The lodge offers singles beds, doubles, twins and family rooming options as mentioned above with different costs ranging from 200$ per night and above. The room rate keeps changing as they go high during peak season than in low season.

A main house has a large dining room overlooking the park that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals to meets guest’s choice. Meals are served in place of your choice either dining area or veranda overlooking the park. They offer buffet breakfast , picnic lunch and dinners served by well trained, friendly and welcoming staff and skilled ,they also serve bush barbeque diners while enjoying the stars in the sky and Morning bush Breakfast while enjoying the morning Sunrise.
A well- stocked lounge bar area overlooking both the river and beautiful pool with variety of refreshment both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, you relax and sip any drink of your choice while overlooking the breathtaking views of the river and surrounding areas.

Activities to do while at the lodge include; Nature walks in the park and local villages, visiting lake jipe ,Climbing or hiking kasigau hill ,game viewing in the park that gives you a chance to spot more animals walking night safaris.
Tsavo national park is made of two separate parks located in Kenya Province between Nairobi city and Mombasa, The Park is considered to be among the largest parks in Kenya covering the total area of 22,000km squared.
The two different parks in Tsavo national park include; Tsavo east national park which is the oldest and largest park in Kenya found in the semi-arid areas of Taru desert occupying the total area of 13,747 kilometers squared and Tsavo west national park also covers the total area of 9,065 kilometers squared. The Two park are most visited with different categories of accommodations; Budget, mid- range and Luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park. Tsavo national park has a variety of wildlife like; Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Buffaloes, Zebras , Leopards, Giraffes , Cheetahs, Lions Etc and over 500 species of birds like; ostriches, starling , weaver birds, Kingfishers, hornbills etc. There are more activities to do while in the park and at the lodge which include; , game drive in the park which enables you to spot different animals in the park and the buffaloes visiting the lodge, , nature walks in the park, Hot air balloon rides that gives good view of the Savannah plains at 450$ per person , hand craft safaris, Camping ,Flying safaris, cultural visits in the villages, Farm visits , Horseback riding in the park, Bird watching/Birding since the park has more species bird ,the watchers cant be disappointed, Nature walks etc. The park has some other attractions like; Olduvai Gorge, Moru Kopjes, athi river etc
