Nguuni Nature Sanctuary
Nguuni Nature Sanctuary is a project of the Baobab Trust, a non-profit Kenya organization funded by the Bamburi Cement Factory, who is committed to advancing conservation through sustainable activities, the sanctuary is situated off the Kiembeni Road-4km from the Lafarge Bamburi Cement Factory and a 10 minute drive from Bamburi Beach. Just a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of Mombasa.
Its is situated along the Nguu Tatu Hills, the sanctuary is a home to the wildlife safari such as Giraffe, eland, ostrich, antelope, Oryx, and the sanctuary offers you a close communion with nature and the various species. Many people visit this sanctuary especially at the time of sunset as it looks stunning and truly enticing. During the sunset that’s when the Giraffes makes their way to the picnic area for feeding and infact you can go ahead to feed these amazing creatures.
Nguuni Nature Sanctuary is a nice place for recreation and other picnic activities, also the sanctuary is a bird watcher’s paradise, so a tourist on a safari can be able to spot the yellow-billed stork, Egyptian geese, white-face whistling duck and many other more bird species.
The bird lovers can choose to visit the sanctuary to see the seasonal feathered residents, like the long-tail cormorant in January and February, then the fulvous whistling duck in July and August and also the brown snake eagle in September and October and many other occasional avian species. Nguuni nature sanctuary is home to a diverse range of the African wildlife and makes for a beautiful place to both explore and relax with friends and family.
It offers the great game driving safari, though these cannot be as much but the guests can be able to see a small sample of the Kenya’s wildlife up close as you immerse yourself in nature as you walk through the acacia woodland while discovering the giraffe, Oryx, eland, ostrich, waterbuck, while wandering through their natural habitat in other words if you prefer more self-directed pastimes, It has several picnic areas and the areas to relax in with your drink as the sun sets on the horizon.
It organizes some of the activities at the sanctuary such as the nature setting is beautiful location for the special events like family reunions, weeding receptions, special events, education trips and many other functions can be arranged to their beloved guests.

Child Non-Resident : Ksh 300.00

How to get to Nguuni Nature Sanctuary.
The Nguuni Nature Sanctuary is situated off the Kiembeni Road, 4km from the Bamburu Cement Factory and a 10 minute drive from the Bamburi beach, just a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of Mombasa. The distance from Mombasa to the sanctuary is 7.4km through the Old Malindi Road which takes you around approximately 22 minutes to reach the sanctuary.
You are recommended arriving by taxi or the tuk tuk. Parking is also available but actually please note, that the roads inside the sanctuary are safari roads, so drive carefully and slowly, Nguuni is not liable for any damage to tyres or the vehicles.
Remember, Nguuni Nature Sanctuary is a wilderness area and therefore insects such as the mosquitos and ticks are present in the sanctuary, so you’re recommended to wear the appropriate trousers and bringing repellent along with you.
