South Coast of Kenya : The southern portion of Kenya’s east coast, known as the “South Coast,” is connected to Mombasa Island via the Likoni passenger and automobile ferry. Shelly, Pungu, Sand Island, Tiwi, Diani, Galu, Kinondo, Msambweni, and Shimoni are the beaches that are connected by a coastal road. Chale, Funzi, and Wasini are the three main islands. There are daily scheduled flights from Ukunda Airport, which is close to Diani Beach and to various destinations in Kenya. On Mombasa Island is Moi International Airport. Wakamba, Digo, and Duruma people have lived in this region.
There are currently around 250 species of fish known. There are options for bird watching, camping, scuba diving, and snorkelling. The mainland location of Shimoni is home to the marine park headquarters, where park payments are to be paid.
South Coast of Kenya : Tiwi Beach
Two elegant houses with ocean views are set in expansive beachfront grounds on Tiwi Beach. Comprising two freshwater lakes, private stables, and a helipad, the 25-acre woodland gardens are spectacular. The group provides exceptional privacy together with personalised treatment. With its own Jacuzzi, the master bedroom at Ocean Villa is one of four en suite bedrooms. A beautiful pool and dining area around the pool are encircled by the rooms. A circular pool is the focal point of Waterside, which features one larger room and four roomy en suites. In both homes, the interior design was done by the owner, and the furniture is handmade locally. Along with a kitchen, living area, bar, snooker room and oceanfront pool, there’s a safari tent. Every taste is catered to by the cooks, who have full staffing in the houses. In addition to ordering dinner in advance, visitors can purchase seafood from nearby fishermen.
All of the lodging establishments offer massage, facial, manicure, and pedicure services. Weddings can be planned. There are rock pools and a starfish island at Tiwi Beach. The longer, busier Diani Beach, with its plethora of stores, eateries, pubs, golf course, and water sports, is just a short drive away. Other nearby Kenya safari activities include a safari in Tsavo West National Park, a trip to the picturesque Shimba Hills, and snorkelling and diving in Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park.
South Coast of Kenya : Diani Marine
Diani Marine Divers Village, which is built around a PADI 5-star diving centre, features villas and rooms surrounded by tropical gardens. The centre participates in marine life protection and has three dive boats with contemporary equipment. The Village has ten en suite rooms—seven doubles, two twins, and one triple—arranged around an open courtyard. In addition to fans, several of the rooms offer sinks and refrigerators. There is a breakfast pavilion with WiFi where breakfast is provided. Three rustic villas are present. Two air-conditioned double rooms on the ground floor and a room with two double beds, a living area, a dining area, and a fully functional kitchen are available at Villa Rosa. One double room is located on the ground floor of Tree Villa, while the first floor features an open-concept double room that includes a kitchen, bar and living space.
Garden Vila features a second-floor open-plan room and a first-floor double room. You can reserve a chef upon request. A pool bar, boutique, massage services and a swimming pool encircled by thatched sun umbrellas are also available. The centre composts food waste and has undertaken trash disposal schemes.
South Coast of Kenya : Ocean Village
Ocean Village is situated on the shores of Diani Beach and features native gardens with an abundance of birds, as well as views of the coast and bush babies. Over 18s are welcome at this tranquil retreat that is exclusively for adults. There are twenty-five en suite rooms with TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and views of the ocean. Makuti offers a buffet, while Sails Restaurant offers a la carte service. The dress code is smart casual; flip-flops, jeans, t-shirts and running shoes are not allowed. Ball games and other loud activities are not permitted at the hotel. Large gatherings, weddings, and conferences are not permitted. Kenya’s most well-known beach, Diani Beach, has received numerous accolades.
Diani features a golf course, a number of eateries, beach bars, retail stores, and art galleries. In the vicinity are boat tours, dive schools, and centres for water activities. You may reserve trips to Mombasa Old Town, Fort Jesus, Shimoni, and Wasini Island from this location.
South Coast of Kenya : Shamba la Salama
On Galu Beach, surrounded by expansive seaside gardens, sits this roomy property. The home looks very imposing with its white columns and broad verandas around the front and back. Six of the seven double or twin bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. There is a sitting and dining space with cream sofas and armchairs, as well as enormous dining tables, located in the soaring core of the home that is open to both floors. The ground floor and first floor bedrooms are located in the corners of the house. The house is decorated with whitewashed walls, magnificent arches, hardwood floors, Arabic lanterns, and African artefacts. The ground level kitchen is completely furnished with refrigerators, freezers, and high-end culinary appliances.
Both sides of the home have lush grass. Requests for massages can be made. It is possible to plan excursions, boat tours, and water sports. The house is close to the well-known eateries, pubs, stores, and golf course in Diani.
South Coast of Kenya : Swahili Beach
Swahili Beach was established in 2011,it is a luxurious and sophisticated resort that combines the architecture of the East African coast with influences from Arabia, India, and Zanzibar. It was designed with state-of-the-art technologies to ensure minimal ecological impact. The resort has 140 en-suite rooms, 16 standard rooms, 110 superior rooms, and 14 executive suites. All rooms are furnished with Swahili furniture and equipped with flat screen TV, minibar, electronic safe, WiFi, and air conditioning. Standard rooms have views of the gardens and cascading pools; Superior rooms have views of the ocean and include an extended sitting room; Executive suites have views of the ocean and include a lounge, dining veranda, and private kitchen.
The Champagne and Oyster Bar offers seafood; East to East offers a combination of Indian and Swahili cuisine; Baharini offers Italian food. The Majlis offers a buffet. One of the many bars is a swim-up bar along the pool. Six treatment rooms and an extensive menu of therapies are available at the Spa and Fitness Centre. Weights, isotonic apparatus, and cardiovascular devices are available at the gym. There are 150 seats in each of the two completely furnished conference rooms, and 50 seats overall.
