The Best Time for a Safari in Tanzania

The Best Time for a Safari in Tanzania  : Tanzania is generally best visited between July and October, when the parks are dry and wildlife viewing is easy, dramatic, and exciting.

Every season has advantages and disadvantages, though, so it is worth calling to talk about. For instance, the shoulder season months of June and October/November are fantastic for seeing wildlife, but they cost a third less than the peak season due to discounts and low season rates.

Northern Tanzania

Because Ngorongoro is not very large, the animals cannot disperse widely when there is an abundance of grass and water, making it an amazing place all year round. On the other hand, February is the best month to witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti, as thousands of wildebeest assemble there for calving season on the southern plains.

Southern Tanzania

The best months to visit the parks in Southern Tanzania are July through October, as they are typically dry season parks. It can be more difficult to locate the wildlife outside of these months than it is in Northern Tanzania.

Ruaha and The Selous are more impacted by the rains than northern Tanzania because they are located on lower land. The Selous is closed from the middle of March until the end of May due to inaccessibility of the camps after heavy rains. Ruaha is likewise largely closed during this season.

If you dislike hot weather, be aware that October and November in the Selous can be extremely hot.

Tanzania: Safari & Beach – Zanzibar

Tanzania is arguably one of the most convenient and excellent safari destinations to combine beach activities with. Because of its variety of accommodations, activities, and not to mention its stunning white sand beaches and turquoise waters, Zanzibar is our favourite beach hideaway. Short flights are available to Zanzibar from all national parks, with an abundance of internal flights available.

The stunning Ras Kutani is the only location on the mainland coast that merits mention. It’s a place to unwind completely and have a private, romantic, and intimate beach vacation.

Pemba Island, Mafia Island, and Fanjove Private Island are additional islands to think about if you’re looking for a deserted experience.
